In order to strengthen our team, we are seeking a Technical Sales Manager (Mechanical Engineer) (m/w/d) who is motivated and skilled to join our expanding team in Moers, Germany.

 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Process engineering design and project planning of plants / components (basic and detail engineering).
  • Lead the development of sales strategies for the EMEA market and coordinate with the internal team as needed to determine equipment/system requirements, perform preliminary design calculations, create preliminary flowcharts, and collaborate with other UCC environmental groups as needed.
  • Able to interpret and work with PFDs and PIDs as well as the sizing of plant components.
  • Create technical estimates and statements of work for projects and review estimates with the supervisor before submitting the quote, if necessary.
  • Work directly with customers and sales reps to define customer needs and recommend workable solutions.
  • Preparation and negotiation of commercial offers for clients, ensuring alignment with technical and contractual requirements
  • Engage in business development activities such as attending trade shows, industry events, and conferences to represent the company in the market.
  • Maintain customer contact after the proposal is submitted and provide follow-up responses and additional information as needed during the customer’s evaluation process.
  • Technical support of the implementation from the concept phase to commissioning.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers, representatives, contractors, and other stakeholders within the EMEA region.
  • Interdisciplinary interface coordination of the various trades or subcontractors.

Your Profile:

  • A successfully completed degree in engineering or bachelor’s degree.
  • Proven experience managing sales and customer relationships across multiple countries within the EMEA region.
  • You have several years of experience in handling technical sales processes, from identifying new opportunities to closing EP/EPC projects.
  • Experience working with or selling into power generation (e.g., thermal power, biomass, WtE) sectors.
  • Understanding of environmental compliance technologies and solutions (e.g., flue gas cleaning, ash handling, sludge treatment).
  • A track record of revenue and revenue growth and successful business development.
  • Experience in negotiating commercial terms, preparing RFQs, RFPs, and managing tender responses.
  • Experience and technical knowledge of systems related to is beneficial:
    • Pneumatic/hydraulic/mechanical material conveying
    • Pumping of water or pumping of water and sludge
    • Dewatering of solids
    • Wastewater treatment
    • Dry sorbent injection
  • Thanks to your good communication skills, you can purposefully develop solutions both in internal coordination with colleagues and in cooperation with the customer.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written. Knowledge of other EMEA languages is an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to work in a team, independence and flexibility.
  • Willingness to travel regularly for meetings and conferences
