Our History
Founded in 1920, UCC Environmental emerged at a time when electricity demand was rapidly growing across the United States, driving the expansion of coal-fired power plants and the need for advanced ash handling solutions.
In response, UCC president Edgar B. Tolman pioneered innovations in pneumatic conveying and introduced the NUVEYOR® Vacuum System—the first of its kind. This groundbreaking technology helped the company navigate the challenges of the Great Depression and laid the foundation for UCC’s ongoing leadership in industrial environmental solutions.
For over a century, UCC has continued to advance the industry, delivering systems and products that adapt to the evolving needs of its customers worldwide.

Advanced Technology and Test Lab
The UCC commitment to quality is backed by thousands of hours of development, testing and evaluation. UCC Environmental has one of the world’s most advanced research laboratories and conveyor test loops to simulate ash and reagent handling applications and validate design parameters. UCC works closely with customers to test and verify conveying performance before deployment at the plant to effectively manage risk.
Project Implementation and Expert Resources
UCC is recognized as the industry leader for on-time project execution and reliable system performance. Our project management, field service and engineering teams work hand-in-hand with customers and industry partners to provide seamless execution on new and retrofit installations. In addition, because our systems and equipment are designed and manufactured in-house, we maintain control over performance, quality and delivery.
Service and Support
UCC is committed to providing the highest level of service for as long as you own your system. Our field service engineers are available worldwide to assist with erection and start up, operator training and maintenance for the duration of the system’s service life.
UCC offers the most readily available inventory of replacement parts to minimize downtime and reduce operating costs. Thousands of replacement parts are in stock and ready for next day shipment.
