A coal-fired power plant had originally installed OEM ring hammer crushers with the expectation of replacing the hammers twice a year. The OEM hammers failed quickly. On average, the third-party through-hardened hammers only lasted in service for approximately three months and had a throughput of 1,175,000 tons before they needed to be replaced. The UCC Coal Crushing Ring Hammers were installed for six months and had a throughput of 2,173,726 tons before they required replacement.

A coal-fired power plant was experiencing excessive lead times obtaining OEM ring hammers for its coal-crushing ring hammer granulators. Lead times, typically around 20 weeks, escalated dramatically to over 72 weeks and counting. This delay significantly increased the risk of downtime for the plant. UCC came to the rescue and successfully delivered the 46 weld overlay ring hammers in under six weeks, which is an impressive 46-week improvement compared to the originally quoted timeframe by the OEM.
